At ArtFlock, we believe that each of our Flock possesses their own strengths, differences and unique creative expression. With our Instructors taking on the role of Facilitators in the classroom, lessons are child-directed and we promote purposeful interaction & collaboration between peers. Incorporating Vygotsky’s concept of Zone of Proximal Development, we foster Individualized Art Learning in our classrooms as we scaffold and hone our flock’s creative and aesthetic development. As each child develop at their own pace, we value the learning process and emphasize on the importance of progression.
Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, ArtFlock strives to provide a welcoming, nurturing environment and an integrated learning experience through Mixed Media. Through a child-centered. developmentally appropriate curriculum, we aim to nurture our Flock’s Holistic Development and Creative Independence. We believe that Mixed Media is the best platform for children to endlessly explore, manipulate and experiment due to its sensory-rich characteristics. It provides valuable, open-ended opportunities as it advocates independent discovery, self-expression, problem solving and critical thinking.
