Course Overview
In this course, participants will develop an understanding of the characteristics of acrylic paint, and effective application of the medium to achieve various visual effects on a landscape or still life objects painting. For the first two weeks, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of acrylic painting. They will study the colour wheel and understand its importance, also learn to see colours as values because it is an important aspect of creating depth and contrast in every art pieces. They will explore different techniques of acrylic blending using brushes, wet and dry painting, and various application of acrylic to create visual textures. After the completion of the fundamentals class, participants will join the open space sessions where they will be guided to paint a subject of their choice, at their own pace for the other four sessions. Participants who wish to extend their sessions, may sign up for another package or a one-off session. Watercolour painting - course details
Course Overview
Learn a range of watercolour painting techniques and discover various possibilities of expressing yourself through this versatile medium. Participants will get started by understanding the characteristics of watercolour, the basic supplies and media used for watercolour painting. They will also explore different watercolour application techniques and colour mixing to create values, form and textures in their artwork. Human Portrait Series 1 - course details
Course Overview
Learning to sketch and paint human portraits can be quite a daunting process, but with ArtFlock’s sequential method you will pick up the basics in no time. In this 6 weeks beginner course, participants will be engaged in a comprehensive study of human facial features and its form. We study the shapes and contours of each individual features, and pay close attention to details. They will also be introduced to drawing using guidelines and various shading techniques to enhance forms. Through the deep understanding of the relationship among the facial features on the face, participants will be able to achieve better proportions and create a realistic portrait. Course Overview
Having completed the Human Portrait Series 1, featuring portrait drawing, participants are now ready to embark on the next course, Human Portrait Series 2, using acrylic painting. In this course, we add life to our portrait drawing by painting it with acrylic paint. Learn basic acrylic blending techniques and explore the different tones available by mixing colours together. Observe the different colours within your own self portrait photo and successfully add contrast to your painting without the use of black paint. Note: It is compulsory for participants to complete Human Portrait Series 1 before starting on Series 2.
